Zika virus has become an epidemic in Brazil and forced the World Health Organisation (WHO) to declare the virus a global crisis.
The disease has been linked to thousands of suspected cases of birth defects in Brazil and part of the problem is how rapidly the virus spreads.
It is suspected that as many as 4 million people have been affected by the virus on the American continents.
WHO said the global crisis status would hopefully improve detection and speed up work towards a vaccine, fast tracking international action.
It’s also concerning that Brazil was worst hit considering that its hosting the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August.
